Handmade Shoes, Reinvented.
I founded a vegan footwear brand that re-engineered artisanal shoemaking into a two-hour process by combining a booty construction lining for force-lasting with a stitch-down technique for the upper that uses glue instead of stitching. Using non-leathers and water-based adhesives, I created durable, repairable shoes at an accessible $220 price point—attracting clients from local buyers to Woody Harrelson and Joaquin Phoenix.
Reimagining Shoe Upkeep.
As an extension of this project, I reimagined shoe care by finishing each pair in a custom mono-color paint, then sending customers home with matching paint for easy touch-ups—allowing them to refresh and personalize their shoes as they aged.
Behind the Scenes.
The following images take you behind the scenes of my shoemaking process, showing how each pair moves from raw materials to a finished, wearable product.
